Case Study: Small Kitting

During the spring of 2004, a retail customer of Fountainpoint Distribution, LLC was searching for a supplier to provide precut Velcro strips.  Due to some specific requirements, a standard retail purchase of Velcro was not the image002correct solution.

  • Fountainpoint located a supplier that could provide 16 mated pieces of Velcro in a heat-sealed bag.
  • The price was very cost effective and because the customer was able to give accurate projections of anticipated use, the cost was able to be brought down even further.
  • Fifty bags were placed in every box so the Velcro could be easily replenished.
